In the 1970s, Paolo Deeney, the eldest son, was in a workshop in Maine, where he caught a glimpse of a small sailboat that had a sail called "Paul & Shark". It was destiny for him, Paolo realized that the new brand would be called that. Their main focus now was to create clothing for water sports enthusiasts. The brand's clothing is now sold in 73 countries.
